I finished my studies in Architecture in 1993 with a specialization in Projects at the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB-UPC). Throughout my professional career, I have developed projects of public works, residential, urban planning, housing and rehabilitation in the area of the Valencian Community and in the south of Catalonia, always in the office of Taller d'Arquitectura Mediterrània SL, of which I am a founding member. Currently I work in Espinosa Arquitectos in Benicarló and Riba-roja d'Ebre, offering my services throughout the area of the provinces of Castellón, Tarragona and Valencia.
In 2007 I began to be aware that the type of architecture and urbanism that prevailed did not respond to my concerns, much less to the real needs of people or the environment. Since then, I took several courses in this direction until I started the Master in Environment and Bioclimatic Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (MAYAB-UPM) in 2010. Here I deepened my knowledge about the environment and the optimization of its resources to make a more efficient and integrated architecture, with a thesis titled "Proposals for self-assessment of sustainability in building-PASE, Analysis, comparison and creation of a Guide for Sustainable Building in Mediterranean climate".
After studying the big thing, I looked back to the origin, that is, the people. Therefore, I continued my search with the Master in Bioconstruction of the Spanish Institute of Baubiology (IEB). The thesis focused on protocolizing how to evaluate the conditions of indoor environments. It opened a new world and a way of understanding architecture and its responsibility in the health of people and the environment. Concerned about the health repercussions of indoor environments, I specialized in the course of Baubiology / Biohabitability Measurements according to the German Technical Standard SBM-2015 of the IBN. I also specialized in the course of Certified Passive House Designer, offered by the Passive House Institute. I am a member of BIHHO, a member of GEA (Association of Geobiological Studies), a member of the Plataforma de Edificación Passivhaus (PEP) and I collaborate with the OKAMBUVA cooperative in training and architecture.
I firmly believe that architecture must be a tool at the service of health and tailored to people, and as such should be rethought with this sole purpose. In the world in which we live, the "more" has been imposed on the "best". The pursuit of benefits and growth at all costs away from people from their natural environment and pollutes the air we breathe, the rivers we drink and the land we cultivate. Architecture is not alien to it, making cities increasingly artificial and less healthy. Therefore, based on the premise that the world is a place that we must take care of for the next generations, I understand that I must practice architecture in a respectful way with the environment, sustainable in the use of materials and resources, free of contaminants from all kinds and natural in the deepest sense of the word. Let's take care of the health of our spaces and we will live much better. And if you got here, how can I help you?
